Obama and the impotent media
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 06:57PM I'm fascinated by the Obama saga. It's obvious the old media is impotent. Now that the new media has uncovered all Obama's blemishes, the old media coughs and clears its throat and makes a feeble attempt to get in on the story, but they are impotent. If the old media was viable they would be asking some pertinent questions.
Senator Obama, although you say you disavow Jeremiah Wright, what ARE your thoughts on Amercia and the free enterprise system? Do you support capitalism?
Senator Obama, do you think the United States of America has been an evil force in the world or have we improved the world through our contributions?
Senator Obama, do you think government should trust what the Founding Fathers created with our Constitution and emphasis on individualism or do you think government should have more control of private industry in order to establish an equality where we all share in the riches of what's produced by our collective efforts?
Senator Obama, do you think, like some, that the radical terrorists of the world are evil or do you think they are merely fighting against a US led imperialism fueled by out-of-control capitalism and greed?
Senator Obama, do you think the middle class values all throughout the heartland of this country are what constitute our culture, or do you think these values are outdated and that multiculturalism should be our focus going into a new globalism?
Any media with courage and conviction would be pressing these questions so that the country understands the mindset of someone who is running for president. And not just Obama, although more questions have been raised about him (outside the old media) with no answers forthcoming -- they should be asking tough questions of all the candidates, and not just playing around with a hot character like Wright, or the little quibbles between candidates.
The old media is absolutely useless and impotent.
