    My little site is dying

So, what do you think -- does traffic matter? Should I spend my time contributing to others like Bloodhound, Homegain and BiggerPockets.

I went from a couple of hundred a day to a dribble. Maybe it's all diluted.

Mike -- Don't know if it makes a difference, but what I write about on my blog and what I write on BHB are very different about 90% of the time. Therefore, I not only don't get 'diluted' but actually benefit from the difference.

Thanks Jeff.I'll keep plugging away -- I'd be lying if I said trafiic doesn't matter, but I'd be lying if I said it's everything.

I'll keep on for my 10 fans :)

    Of which I'm at least 1.5. :)

Ha -- thanks. I saw your request re: SC -- don't know anyone up that way although it's just up the road -- I'll check around, though.

Mike, what is your goal in terms of traffic and who do you want your readers to be on this blog? Don't pack it up, yet:)

    I'm shooting for 500,000 a day :)

I'll keep trying. I was wondering aloud if there aren't enough of these around -- but hell, I enjoy pecking away, so what the hell.

Faina, did you once live in Savannah?

    Mike

I think there may be a few things at play. You may wish to check with Jay, Brian and others that guest blog and see how their individual blogs are doing. I would imagine that being in many places adds to your draw rather than detracts.

I think the declines may have something to do with

    1.warmer weather
    2. your content selection- i think your recent team building posts held less wide spread appeal than some of your more industry focused ones. Mentioning companies in your blog for better or worse adds readers as the company names show up in google alerts.
    3. carrying over conversations from other blogs was something you did quite well which you have not done recently

If I think of others I will let you know.

Mike, never lived in Savannah, why? I agree with Louis on the possible reasons. Also, there may be just too many blogs covering the same issues.

Thanks, Louis -- yes, the team posts were limiting in interest.

Faina, I don't know why I thought that, I thought I saw something in one of the social sites that made me think that -- I probably misread something.

You should write about what you like. Inevitably there will be rises and falls in traffic. You should however from time to time write about timely subjects to get readers who will follow from time to time. THe Homegain blog goes through its periods too as probably does every blog.
BTW you are due on the homegain agent blog for a post :-)
