Good agents everywhere rock the real estate world, not just Redfin

redfin.jpgI have to hand it to Glenn Kelman, he gets great publicity. However, the media is clueless when it comes to what's happening in real estate across the country. They still have this simple-minded perception of all agents outside discount companies like Redfin as sharks who rake in the big bucks at the expense of consumers.

Agents are going broke left and right. Most agents, historically, have averaged far less in salary than anyone is aware of. Plus the nature of providing real estate services is changing, and as always the media is ignornant of the change.

Most of the surviving agents I talk with both offline and online have a different mindset about "sales" than their predecessors and they are providing good services in a tough market. Yes, Redfin gets the publicity, but there are many good agents across the country who are rocking worlds, one personal world, one transaction at a time.

I call on Glen to show his gratitude for the fortunate article by recognizing his colleagues who are succeeding by delivering great service in this woeful market -- something like "Yes, I believe in my model, and I think Redfin is great, but in reality there are many dedicated agents in companies everywhere going the extra mile each day."

    Now, THAT would be class.
