This site is about libertarian ideas, politics, economics, government, freedom, property rights, entrepreneurship, innovation, objectivty and other such stuff important to humans. I uphold libertarian principles and believe wholeheartedly in minimal government, or no government if it would work -- this blog explains why.

    Libertarians are crazy

I went crazy in the early eighties. At first, it was a little embarrassing, but I couldn't help it once I crossed the line -- soon, I was so crazy, I didn't even notice it. I only know now because I continue to see it written -- libertarians are crazy.

I've always liked the word "crazy" -- at one time it meant "radically cool" -- like, crazy, man -- but I don't think that's what current critics of libertarianism have in mind.

I think they're saying libertarian ideas are all whack, and libertarians are naive kooks who believe that freedom is more important than sanity. Yeah, right, like I believe that!

I have to admit that sometimes I wish I'd never gone crazy, that I could still believe the state really likes me and just wants to make sure I have what I need-- I miss that big brother thing, but I'm alright, really I am. It's lonely being crazy. Some Friday nights I dress up like a liberal and go to poetry readings. Did you know that there are no libertarian poets? Perhaps I could be the first --

    Cut the spending,
    Abolish the taxes,
    Limit the power
    Of guvmint jackasses.

I know, it needs some work.

I used to wonder if I was sane and the rest of the world was crazy, but that was in adolescence and everybody knows what that's like.

Well, it's getting late and I read somewhere that crazy people need lots of sleep.

Sweet dreams -- mine are always crazy.
