    Obama's ambitious agenda

The president says he wants to continue his agenda and become energy independent. I agree that we need to become energy independent, if that means industry can access the energy they need without high prices and hurting American enterprises in the global economy. We won't get there anytime soon if he bans drilling - we need oil until alternative energy is advanced enough to be effective.

Obama is basically saying that his policies are unpopular but he's going ahead full steam. This is risky given the state of the economy. It's obvious that private industries need to be allowed to operate without the burden of government intervention, but Obama is planning on intervening in spite of the consequences. He might be a one term president.
