Chris Matthews on history and the Tea Party

On MSNBC's Hardball, which I watched today along with 10 other viewers, Chis Matthews and Clarence Page are blaming the Tea Party for the drop in stocks today. Matthews says that the Tea Party knows nothing of history, then showed a clip of Rush Limbaugh trashing Keynesianism as associated with Obama's failed stimulus effort. Page said that the stimulus did not spend enough money. Matthews said FDR saved capitalism in the 30s through government spending. It's obvious Matthews hasn't read the history of the New Deal written by anyone other than Keynesian apologist economists. And it's the Tea Party that doesn't understand history. I don't know why I watched Matthews -- I just stopped there as I was channel surfing. Amazing.
