Morning Joe 1/19/2012 -- Where are Romney's handlers?
Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 07:32AM Morning Joe hosts and guests did it again -- they've have presented the insightful analysis that you can't get anywhere else except in liberal media. Because it would be a shame to allow Romney to take the nomination this early, and Morning Joe wouldn't get to travel to interesting primary sites, pushing Newt Gingrich as a rising, comeback kid star will hopefully slow down Romney's momentum. Plus, as the experts on Morning said, Romney has made mistakes -- he has allowed media to lie, exaggerate and spin while he has been answering false charges in a way that shows his handlers haven't completely made him into an automaton. Where are Romney's handlers?
All the poltical experts know that unless you are an automaton who can pretend you are comfortable in your own skin, you have no chance of fooling enough people to vote for you. Even though Romney is 10 points in the lead in a state he wasn't supposed to win, it's clear that Romney's failure to prevent the media from lying and piling on and framing Romney's responses as gaffes could hurt Romney if Gingrich gains 10 points in th next day or two.
Romney has money in the Cayman Islands! What was he thinking? Although he pays normal taxes on the money and there is a good reason he has money in an investment fund which is out of the Caymans, Romney should have known that the press will look for anything they can use to destroy a candidate who has done nothing wrong. Where are Romney's handlers? An automaton wouldn't make this mistake.
To highlight Romney's lack of automaton-like perception of the public's perception of his perception, he took money for his speeches, just like every other popular speaker, even though he gives millions in charity, which not many people do. Doesn't Romney know that a convenient store clerk in SC who's making $16,876.45 a year can't give that much to charity? How does that make the worker feel when he wants to give a lot to charity, but can't afford to give more than fifty cents at a McDonald's drive-through window where they have the Ronald McDonald slot which collects for cancer?
The Morning Joe crew, for all of five minutes, jumped on a less important story -- Obama's rejection of the Keystone pipeline -- eventually assuming that Obama just wants more time to make sure it doesn't hurt the environment, although the pipeline has been studied for 3 years. The crew was a little perplexed at Obama's decision, but Romney only paid a 15% tax rate on his millions, so there -- you decide what's more important. As if it isn't obvious. Where oh where are Romney's handlers?
