Morning Joe 1/24/2012 -- Hopeless political class

On Morning Joe today the guests were John Heilemann and Steve Rattner during the first segment, and the topic was the Republican primary, plus Obama's State of the Union address. Scarborough says Gingrich will not be the nominee. Everyone thought Romney did well in the debate and that Gingrich doesn't do as well without audience participation. Some said the candidates looked tired. No one said anything about Paul, except he looked like a chaperone for the two leaders. Santroum was on Morning Joe. Santorum just can't get any traction, even with media help -- that's good.

I watched most of the debate and while I hold out hope that Ron Paul's influence can affect some change and perhaps beat back interventionist government, after listening to Valerie Jarrett, who was also on Morning Joe, I realized the political class in America is hopeless. Jarrett is still talking about Warren Buffett paying less in taxes than his secretary. This level of Orwellian creepiness is so ingrained in government, there's not much hope for change from within government. If government changes it will have to be created from outside pressure. Jarrett spouted propaganda as she described Obama's preparation for the State of the Union adress tonight. There will be a lot of talk with little substance, if Jarret's preview is any indication. The middle class shouldn't be left behind. Wow. I'm tingly.
