Has everyone in media and the political realm on both sides completely lost their minds?
Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 07:22PM I've seen and heard numerous reports of Romney's "gaffe", with one conservative reporter asking if this "gaffe" will cost him the election. Romney said he's not concerned with the very poor because they have a safty net, and he's not concerned with the rich because they are doing quite well -- he's concerned with the middle class because they need jobs.
Spinning Romney's words has become a sickness in media, and now the Right is joining in. Before too long, media will pull words out of Romney's speechs and put them togther in sentences, like "I hate women" because these three words had been said separately at some point in the speech.
Charles Krauthammer even fretted like a tsk-tsk-ing old lady over the "gaffe", disecting it and explaining how the poor aren't a monolithic class, that poor people rise to the middle class -- oh, come on!
I don't know whether to laugh, cry or beat my head against a steel pole. If media and pundits are going to twist and spin everything Romney says, and intelligent people are going to give some kind of validity to the spin and twisting, then Romney needs to quit now -- all the Republican candidates need to quit and just give Obama 4 more years -- hell, make him Emperor. I've had it with the lies, weak-kneed worrying and the frigging insanity.
