Morning Joe 6/27/2012 -- 25% D, 25% R, 50% ?

On Morning Joe today, a lot of the show was a memorial for Nora Ephron who died last night at 71 yrs of age from pneumonia complications related to her battle with lukemia. Ephron had an eclectic career, but her main professional accomplishments that brought her fame were writing the movies Harry and Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and Got Email. I didn't care for any of these movies, but there you have it. The few times I saw Ephron interviewed, she appeared intelligent, affable and energetic. I'm sure she had many friends.

When the Morning Joe crew moved away from Ephron, they used new poll numbers to position Obama ahead of Romney as we move closer to the election. I don't believe any of these numbers. The strangest claim was by Scarborough who can't believe that 28% of the people polled think negatively of Romney's business experience. Scarborough said it's unheard of to have any percentage negative regarding business experience . What bunk. Liberals and progressives and anti-capitalists of all stripes make up about 25% of the voting population, and they will see anything about Romney as negative. Maybe I don't understand who was polled, and it turns out they were polling Wall Street, Republican voters -- now this would be unheard of, if 28% of them were negative on Romney's business experience. But if they are operating a poll asking likely voters, then 28% would say they are negative toward Romney giving 10 million dollars to AIDS research.

MSNBC has become a campaign arm of the Democratic Party, and most of the polls are conducted by organizations that are biased toward the Democratic Party. These poll numbers have been wrong many times in the past. It depends on how the questions are asked. Plus, I think many people are tired of pollsters and give bugus responses. Another problem is that so many people have cell phones and no land lines now. These polls are meaningless. They probably reflect the 25% hardcore Democratic voters and hardcore GOP voters, about 25% each, but they say nothing about the other 50%. The other 50% will decide this race, and right now I suspect that Romney has the majority of these votes.

Claire McCaskill was on, and she called the Tea Party candidates extremists, while Scarborough pointed out that Orrin Hatch handily won against a Tea Party candidate. On Morning Joe, now, they have all accepted the characterization of Tea Party voters and candidates as extremists. This is what will rise up and fool all of the pundits at election time. While MSM pushes the propaganda line that hispanics will give Obama the victory, Tea Party voters across the country are waiting patiently for election day. Media will portray this as whites against minorities, but the real battle is statism against Americans fed up with government spending and control. Americans are realizing that government interventions and all their expensive, failed programs are killing the economy and keeping unemployment high. There will be many minority voters voting against government intervention and wasteful spending as well -- all Americans want a return of economic growth and it won't come from a government plan.
