Morning Joe 7/25/2012 -- Shifting polls and the GOP

On Morning Joe the guests for the first part were Sam Stein, Ed Rendell, Mark McKinnon and Mike Schmidt. McKinnon and Schmidt, like Scarborough, are Centrist Statists. The discussion was this weeks' batch of polls showing Obama with a lead, although the polls showed Romney favored to handle the economy. The pundits gave their analysis of this week's up as they did last week's down. According to the pundits Romney has not made his case to the public, and he has to separate himself from the Tea party crazies. Scarborough and Centrist company helped Obama by smearing the Tea Party, picking out the worst aspects and concentrating on them without providing context.

Scarborough, mcKinnon and Schmidt framed the GOP as captured by rightwing extremists who've alienated hispanics, blacks and women and are out of touch with American culture. This is the cartoon version of the Republican Party, and it's certainly one propagated by media. The Leftists on Morning Joe didn't have to attack Romney -- they only had to agree with Scarborough and the Centrists.
