Stevie "Chartman" Rattner is a weasel
Monday, July 9, 2012 at 01:37PM Who would possibly call cute Little Stevie Rattner a weasel? I would. This morning Rattner did something he knows is as misleading as a bald-faced lie. Rattner (maybe I should call him a rat) showed one of his phony, partisan charts comparing the unemployment numbers during Reagan's first term with Obama's first term. Rattner's purpose was to minimize the unemployment scenario under Obama by claiming it's similar to Reagan's. Rattner knows that the labor force has shrunk under Obama, and that all the workers who've dropped out of the labor force because they gave up looking for work are not counted, and the situation was different under Reagan. Unemployment under Reagan at this time during his first term was around 7.2%, but there were about 1.5 million more workers in the labor force, so the difference is greater than what Rattner is trying to show with his phony, lying chart.
I'm not jumping up and down defending my guy and dissing Rattner's guy -- Reagan wasn't necessarily my guy. I liked Reagan's ability to articulate libertarian rprinciples, but, ultimately, government grew in size and power under Reagan. No, what I hate are the lies from people like Rattner who know better. Rattner also totes around phony, lying charts that praise the auto bailout, but the facts show that Rattner is disseminating propaganda. Rattner knows better and he should be ashamed of himself for presenting himself as a serious expert -- he's a partisan hack of the worst sort.
