EU in transition
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 02:37PM It's doubtful that Greece, Spain, Italy or Portugal have the ability to resist changes in the EU which give Germany more central power. It's not surprising that this relatively loose union would eventually reach the point of realizing that central management is needed. In America we've gone through a similar evolution in that individual states have lost independence to central management in DC. Dependence comes about slowly, and it feels good to have that secure safety net -- then before you know it, you no longer know how to be independent.
