    What this site's about

This site is about libertarian ideas, politics, economics, government, freedom, property rights, entrepreneurship, innovation, objectivty and other such stuff important to humans. I uphold libertarian principles and believe wholeheartedly in minimal government, or no government if it would work -- this blog explains why.

    Progressive denial

    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ezra-klein/2009/09/my_one_and_only_post_on_acorn.html

Ezra Klein, who blogs for the Washington Post, is a prime expample of progressives in denial. I use "denial" because it's a less harsh clinical term which suggests he might be suffering from a slight mental disorder which is a defense mechanism against the truth. The other explanation, more harsh, is that he's a conniving partisan bent on spinning any bad progressive news to steer others from seeking the truth.

There's a simple way to resolve this -- people with influence like Ezra Klein and The Washington Post higher-ups can be rational, brave and non-partisan for a minute and demand an independent investigation of ACORN and their connections and political support based on the horrible evidence we already have.

    Poor Ezra Klein

You have to give Klein credit, though -- he's plugging along every day trying to spin silk out of sows ears. If I ever have need for a faithful defender, I'll lobby Klein to be on my side. He's taken every sorry aspect of this whole healthcare debacle and he's massaged, rebuilt, spun, dissected, re-designed, propped up and duct-taped it all to keep the fiasco going.

I hate to see such a smart guy be so partisan, though, because it's so intellectually limiting and it might not be good for his career -- you can only so far with the elite crowd in this changing world -- one day elite, next day forgotten and effete.

"My sense from reporting in the past week is that it really did invigorate the players on the Democratic side, if only by providing a clean break with the dispiriting hysteria of August. The speech created space for the legislative process to restart, which was pretty much what it needed." -- Ezra Klein

Well, as long as the elite are pumped, I guess that's something.
