This site is about libertarian ideas, politics, economics, government, freedom, property rights, entrepreneurship, innovation, objectivty and other such stuff important to humans. I uphold libertarian principles and believe wholeheartedly in minimal government, or no government if it would work -- this blog explains why.

Progressives have been sent a message

    No more socializing!

The country is tired of big spending, big programs, redistribution, unemployment, taxes, and over-reach in general.

It's too bad Hoffman didn't win, but the other two elections, with McDonnell and Christie winning, and Hoffman's good showing, send a clear message -- the resistance has just begun. The country is fired up and the independent movement is growing.

We'll see how the Republican Party reacts. Republicans have a chance to become the limited government party, but, first, the moderates have to get on board. It's good to see libertarian influence having an effect, but if the party splits down a statist/limited government line, there could be a big battle ahead, and if the big money goes toward the statist-leaners, there will support for a third party -- even if a third party doesn't have a chance. People are not in the mood to be sold out again.

However, the real question is -- how will Democrats act? Will the Democrats unite under progressivism, or will they split, too? It's going to be interesting.

Democrats show true color on public option

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33479225/ns/politics-health_care_reform/

I wrote in a post three months ago that the Democrats don't care what the Republicans have to contribute to healthcare reform, they are going to get a public option that leads to single payer. The states will now be pressured to not opt out and it won't be long before the progressives are on the road to single payer, government run healthcare.

The whole bipartisan bit was a charade, a cynical ploy to make it look like the Democrats wanted a bipartisan effort. There's no question that the Democrats want government run healthcare and they will lie, cheat and steal to get it.

This can all be undone if the public unites and punishes the progressives in the next two elections. I was thinking today that it Hoffman wins in NY-23, and the 2010 elections are hard on the progressives, there might enough momentum and inspiration for the American people to demand free market solutions to healthcare, re-ignite the economy and get this country on the right path. It's time to stop the progressive nonsense.

    Palin Going Rogue With Hoffman

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/10/22/breaking-palin-endorses-hoffman/

A distinction is being made in these recent campaigns. We can't afford distinctions without a difference, and fortunately the difference is becoming clear -- powerful, interventionist government which is hammering the free market vs limited government and support of the free market. This is the difference which needs to be played up and presented to the American people.

    Full steam ahead.
