It's official: Obama administration thinks all Americans other than them are stupid

    http://hotair.com/archives/2013/01/15/good-news-from-jay-carney-egypts-jew-hating-president-is-committed-to-peace/

This is incredible. So Morsi is all onboard regarding peace with Israel, and Morsi has acted in good faith, so we are okay with him. Just shut up.

Another thing, you'd think the administration would choose someone who can speak and read well to be a spokesperson.

    Avoiding reality?

    http://hotair.com/archives/2012/12/07/november-jobs-report-146000-jobs-added-jobless-rate-drops-to-7-7/

    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/08/business/economy/us-creates-146000-new-jobs-as-unemployment-rate-falls-to-7-7.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&_r=0

Two reports above. Although Hotair is clearer that this report is not good, both lead with what appears to be good news. The NYT starts off praising the report, then way down at the end of the article it reports that "some" economists warn the report is not so good. Reality: the report is not good.

To paraphrase Ayn Rand -- you can attempt to avoid the consequences of reality but you can't avoid the consequences of attempting to avoid the consequences of reality. In reality many workers are dropping out of the labor force because they're giving up looking for a job, and that should have been the headline. Media can mislead the American people, and they can soften the reality of the economy, but they can't change the reality of unemployment or the reality of the economy.

Chuck Schumer in favor of free speech violations

    http://hotair.com/archives/2012/07/17/schumer-calls-for-limits-on-first-amendment-rights-during-senate-debate/

Chuck Schumer erroneously rationalizes the violation of free speech by claiming that yelling fire in a theater and libel are both restrictions on free speech, so the 1st Amendment is not absolute. It is absolute as written, unless a Congressman wants to violate the Constitution. Neither one of these examples are free speech issues -- they have to do with violation of rights caused by what is said. How does Schumer justify this law? What basic rights are they protecting from violation? You can't restrict free speech just because you don't like what's being said, or based on how it will influence others politically. Unless the "speech" involved creates actions that violate the basic rights of a person or number of persons, then the "speech" can't be restricted according to the Constitution.

Reason number 2,560,450 why we need a limited government

    http://hotair.com/archives/2012/06/22/epa-fines-oil-refiners-for-failing-to-use-nonexistent-biofuel/

Statist apologists will say this an anomaly, and that to pick out these flaws as if they represent government performance is unfair. That would be a good comeback if it happened to be true. Unfortunately, there are way, way too many examples of government incompetence and rules that legalize theft.

    More bad economic news

    http://hotair.com/archives/2012/05/31/q1-gdp-revised-downward-to-1-9/

These negative reports make it more likely the Fed will act sooner rather than later to goose the economy with artificial stimulus. We need real, productive growth and new wealth creation, not more boom juice that will cause a greater bust post-election. The Fed should allow the economy to adjust and throw off all malinvestments of capital.
