Morning Joe 4/10/2012 -- David Axelrod and Paul Ryan
Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 07:36AM On Morning Joe, the crew gave a few back-handed compliments to Mitt Romney, then took it all back with an overall dissing of him as a stiff, out of touch person who doesn't understand the ordinary citizen. Romney is rich, you know.
What was eye-opening was the conversations with David Axelrod and Paul Ryan. The basic argument was whether we cut spending or raise taxes or do both. With Axelrod, his appearance was an ad for Obama's reelection. It was all in good cheer and comaraderie, even though Axelrod is a dispicable political operative who's purpose is to manipulate the American people. Within the political realm, though, hosts of morning news shows like Morning Joe maintain social relationships with political goons like Axelrod, and it's all very respectable and collegial. Scarborough pretended to ask some tough questions about entitlements, but allowed Axelrod to have the last word -- Obamacare will solve the entitlement problem. Scarborough was more concerned with Obama having the courage to raise taxes on millionaires&billionaires than with the lies Axelrod told about government programs like Obamacare that will destroy our economy. It's amazing. Scarborough, the "small" government conservative, is begging Obama to raise taxes on millionaires&billionaires! Oh, but he asked Axelrod to promise that after raising taxes, Obama and gang will truly reform entitlements. Axelrod assured Joe that Obamacare has it covered, and then Joe asked about David's family and all was well.
When Paul Ryan came on, Ryan admitted that his budget plan only slows the growth of spending and doesn't actually cut spending. Our statist system is so strong that Ryan believes he can only slightly curb the growth of spending, and Obama and gang are calling it social Darwinism. This is where we are now in America. How's the family?
