Morning Joe 10/6/2011 -- Steve Jobs

I caught the first part of Morning Joe when they were talking about Steve Jobs. A caption down below the screen said Jobs took a $1.00 annaul salary since 1997. Making Jobs a different, acceptable kind of entrpreneur does a disservice to honesty and to Jobs. Jobs was a milti-billionaire, and he added far more value and wealth than he gained personally. Jobs is a prime example of capitalism and how a capitalist system can do so much good for others. It's only when the State becomes involved in capitalism that problems arise. Not that markets never have problems, but they are problems which can be fixed in the market, just like Jobs fixed Apple when it was going under.

We need more public exposure of entrepreneurs like Jobs -- they provide an invaluable service to us all. The young people protesting on Wall Street should learn from Steve Jobs. The more we can develope a free market, the more likely bright stars like Jobs will arise making a new way for millions of others. The protesters are correct that big, government-connected banks have perverted capitalism, but the answer is freedom, not more government intervention.
