Obama is not going to address Afghanistan until after the election, even though our young men and women in combat are sitting ducks to the Afghans they trained to defend the country. This war is a complete failure for the US and we should pull out immediately regardless of what happens when we leave. It no longer matters who is wrong or right -- the war is a failure, and the people of this region will do what they please, which has nothing to do with what we want them to do.
Every soldier who dies is more blood on the hands of Obama and Congress. Romney and Ryan should address this situation and call for withdrawal of ALL troops. This is an area in which if Romney doesn't stand for a policy of non-interventionism, and if he and Ryan posture like all Presidents and VPs as world-class-ass-kickers, then I can't support the ticket. This issue in Afghanistan, and the mideast as a whole, is a top issue that must be dealt with. We have no business there. We should maintain an excellect military with the greatest defense capabilities in the world, but intervening in other countries who aren't posed to attack us is something the US should end once and for all. We should also close all military bases overseas. We may never have a President who can courageously address the corruption of the military/industrial complex. The State has conned most Americans in this area of concern. Perhaps Americans have had enough, though, and, if more soldiers are killed by the people they train, hopefully there will be a backlash, a call for an end to our involvement in the mideast. This is an important issue.
